Mission/Vision Statement:
We believe that Faith Formation Flows from the Eucharist to Include:
Catholic religious education, sacramental preparation, youth ministry,
worship, prayer, service and charity, social justice, community building
& christian moral teachings. We believe that the Faith Formation Ministry
exists to nurture and support life long family catechesis. This Ministry is a
consolidation of the faithful parishioners of St. Mary, St. Mark and St. Mary’s
of the Purification in Marystown. As stated in the General Directory for
Catechesis, discipleship is at the heart of all faith formation – “to put people
not only in touch, but also in communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ.”
We believe faith formation is an on-going, lifelong process that forms, informs
and transforms us to become disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe we are brought
into communion and intimacy with Christ through:
§ The Profession of Faith
§ The Celebration of the Christian Mystery
§ Life in Christ
§ Christian Prayer
We believe faith formation is God-centered and intergenerational to promote an integrated, holistic approach to learning.
